It is unstable, crashes with a broken pipe minutes after starting. I get no message in the log or whatsoever and I don't get any type2 stats (type1 are perfect!?). I'm using hermetix mix's mix binary. and, in case it could be the source of the problem here are the perms on mix directory and files: /var/lib/mix is chmod 755 and chown mix.mix /var/lib/mix/mixmaster is chmod 711 /var/lib/mix/* is chmod 600 perl version is: 5.8.8 mixmaster version is: 3.0rc1 echolot version is: 2.0.10 Here's what I get in pingd.log (pingd.conf follows) from start to crash (last line calls mix, I guess that explains why I don't get the type 2 stats) Aug 19 07:51:03 [DEBUG] Detaching. I built and installed a new mixmaster binary as echolot user and it works. The process doesn't crash anymore and I see that type2 stats are being taken in: ... It's probably not as relevent anymore, but I'm interested as to why it wasn't working (from what I understood echolot just needs access to execute mixmaster).
