no type 2 stats

Hi,
I'm having a problem with my newly installed echolot. It is unstable,
crashes with a broken pipe minutes after starting. I get no message in
the log or whatsoever and I don't get any type2 stats (type1 are
perfect!?).

I don't know where I should start looking, anybody seen this?

Any hints are welcome...
