no type 2 stats

Hi,

it runs on a x86_64 computer with gentoo as os. I installed echolot as
in the README instructions. I'm using hermetix mix's mix binary.

and, in case it could be the source of the problem here are the perms on
mix directory and files:

/var/lib/mix is chmod 755 and chown mix.mix
/var/lib/mix/mixmaster is chmod 711
/var/lib/mix/* is chmod 600

perl version is: 5.8.8
mixmaster version is: 3.0rc1
echolot version is: 2.0.10

Here's what I get in pingd.log (pingd.conf follows) from start to crash
(last line calls mix, I guess that explains why I don't get the type 2 stats)
